BOMAG was founded in 1957 in a workshop in Boppard and is now the world leader in compaction equipment. Today BOMAG produces around 170 different models for the compaction and treatment of soils, asphalt, concrete and refuse including graders and stabiliser and recyclers.

Consisting of 19 product groups and a wide choice of options, the compaction range extends from a 50 kg tamper to a 45 tonne refuse compactor. BOMAG leads the world with roller-integrated compaction testing systems such as BOMAG-Terrameter and BOMAG Compaction Management, and in the field of automatic compaction control with VARIOMATIC and VARIOCONTROL.

With 1900 employees worldwide, in 2000 BOMAG had a turnover of more than DM 820 million.
