Hydraulic Submersible

Selwood Hydrosub - The range comprises of 50mm, 100mm and 150mm models with diesel driven hydraulic power packs complete with electric start and are protected with an automatic shutdown in the event of low engine or hydraulic oil and high engine or hyraulic oil temperature.

A unique feature of these pumps is their versatility. The hydraulic wet ends, which are available in aluminium and cast iron, are capable of a high flow and low head or a low flow and high head. All that needs changing is the impeller - not the pump! The power packs are easy to operate. The hydraulic system incorporates a large return filter ensuring that any contaminants are captured. The fuel tank has flushing panels and a drain facility as well as providing 24 hour running capability.

High specification hydraulic motors and stainless steel wear plates are featured throughout the range.

Hydraulic Borehole

Hydraulic Borehole - This pump achieves its high head despite its small diameter by having two impellers in series. The water is passed from the outlet of the first impeller into the suction side of the second impeller and is then passed in two pipes either side of the bearing housing to join in a 'Y' piece and through the one inch outlet.

To help in lowering the pump down narrow shafts, the bottom of the pump has a bullet profile and the rest of the pump is designed to be as smooth as possible, with an overall diameter of only 117mm.

The power pack required to power this pump is the standard Selwood 7.5hp unit. Hydraulic power is ideal for use in methane environments because the pump is intrinsically safe.

A range of electric borehole pumps is also available.

Solids Handling (Heavy Duty)

Solids Handling - For higher performance the "C" type pumps have shrouded single or multi-channel impellers with large throughways and single volute pump casings for liquids containing solids and fibres. For sludge and further improved solids handling the "D" type pumps are fitted with vortex type impellers.

The main application area for these pumps is sewage pumping in pumping stations and treatment plants. However, they are widely used in other municipal applications such as storm water pumping and irrigation. Other important areas are industrial applications and manure handling in agriculture.

Drainage (Heavy Duty)

Drainage Pumps HD - The range is extremely robust and specifically designed to handle water and other liquids polluted with high concentrations of clay, stone, chips and drilling fines. Major wear parts are lined with polyurethane, which can last up to five times longer than rubber.
There is a BIBO pump available for most requirements including those entailing high capacities, confined spaces, high heads and explosive environments.

Drainage (Light Duty)

Drainage Pumps LD - At the smaller end is the SX range. These are compact, high performance and low maintenance, submersible drainage pumps in stainless steel for pumping clean or contaminated wastes. Ideal for the maintenance of basements and car parks, the draining of tanks and the transfer of clean or contaminated waters.

For medium duty work the READY is ideal. They are durable, wear resistant and lightweight drainage pumps for dewatering and flood clean up type operations. The READY 24 and 40 pumps meet the long life and dependability expected by demanding users such as public utilities, water authorities and rental companies. The DX/DXV range are waste water and solids handling pumps for light to medium duty. These are compact high performance submersibles with pump body and motor casing in stainless steel, offering a wide range of applications including the transfer of clean, dirty or contaminated waters and the drainage of ditches and trenches.

Slurry (Heavy Duty)

Slurry Pumps - All these pumps feature a vortex impeller. The natural low wear experienced in vortex pumps and the limited effect of wear on the pump output, together with the absence of wear rings that could impair performance, leads to long term consistent high performance with minimal downtime for maintenance.

Used primarily in sewage, food processing, water control and general industry, these pumps are suitable for handling bentonite, sand extraction, mining, industrial waste, all types of effluent with solids in suspension, dredging of harbours, the cleaning of rivers, lakes and lagoons, underwater work and silt removal and general sludge disposal.
