Founded in 1916, Isuzu are a renowned Japanese commercial vehicle and diesel engine manufacturing company with its headquarters in Tokyo. Its production of diesel engines is a major sector of the company’s business – it has produced over 20 million engines worldwide and offers a highly comprehensive product line which provides powerful moving capabilities.

The size of an engine is often referred to as engine capacity or engine displacement – this is essentially a measurement of how large a space the engine’s piston’s operate in. Isuzu offer a wide ranging line of industrial purpose diesel engines of both low and high displacement, ranging from 4-cylinder 2.2-litre engines to 6-cylinder 15.7-litre engines. Isuzu engines support a wide range of applications, including generators, construction machinery and various vehicles – some of which are used in extremely harsh conditions such as expeditions in the south pole.

Quality control is an important aspect of the manufacturing division and to ensure optimum quality Isuzu has established a system of screening checkpoints. This ensures that all the individual parts of an engine and a chassis are in correct working order, and that any defective parts are not passed to the next stage of processing. The company is continuously striving to maintain quality and improve efficiency as well as taking initiatives to protect the world’s environment – all domestic plants and overseas facilities are ISO14001 certified.
