A Japanese manufacturing company established in 1963 by Mr Akio Takeuchi – a trained mechanical engineer. Takeuchi are now market leaders specialising in heavy equipment such as mini or compact excavators, hydraulic excavators and crawler loaders.

The company were responsible for developing the world’s first compact excavator in 1971, specifically designed to suit the demands of a customer looking to find an alternative to the traditional labour-intensive methods of manual digging. Takeuchi’s first compact excavator was a massive success, and they have been developing and expanding their product range ever since – in 1986 the company developed and launched the first compact rubber track loader, ideally suited to rough terrain operation.

Takeuchi have been present in the UK since 1996 when a subsidiary was set up in Rochdale, then in 2001 a Southern depot was set up in Thatcham, Berkshire. The UK division of Takeuchi offer a dedicated service team and parts division, all of which are backed by the national distribution via its network of dealers.

Takeuchi offer a fully comprehensive range of compact excavators, with over 16 models to choose from, ranging from 1180kg to 15860kg load weight. Hydraulic Breakers

Takeuchi hydraulic breakers have been specifically designed to match the flow of the complete range of mini excavators from 1 – 15 tonnes. The new Sound Suppressed range also offers a significantly quieter performance due to the solid case which helps to contain sound within the cast steel protective body. This not only offers superior noise reduction, but also enhanced product protection, effectively sealing the hydraulic breaker from dust and debris – making it well suited to work in tough environments.
